Best Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:
4 large potatoes, thinly sliced π₯
2 cups heavy cream π§΄
2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or gruyere) π§
1 onion, sliced π§
2 cloves garlic, minced π§
Salt and pepper, to taste π§
2 tablespoons butter π§
1 tablespoon fresh thyme (optional) πΏ
Instructions:
1οΈβ£ Prepare the Potatoes:
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
Layer the thinly sliced potatoes and onions in the dish.
