Beef and Gravy Over Mashed Potatoes

Step 1️⃣: Prepare the Beef
1. In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, and pepper.
2. Coat beef pieces in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2️⃣: Make the Gravy
1. In the same skillet, add flour and whisk to combine with butter and beef drippings. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
2. Gradually pour in beef broth and red wine (if using), whisking continuously. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
